Hybridization of solar-thermal technology with other energy sources Workshop

Within the framework of the sixth International Conference on Information Technology in Renewable Energies, a “Workshop hybridization of solar-thermal technology with other energy sources” will be held.

The Conference will take place between 23 and 26 May at the ETSIT of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) in Madrid.

The 11th of February, the review meeting for the first period of HYSOL project was held in Madrid, with the attendance of Mr Marcelino Sánchez from CENER as reviewer of the project, Mr Piero de Bonis as EC Project Officer, and some representatives of all the partners.

During this meeting, the first period progress of the project was discussed. As a conclusion, all the intermediate objectives have been reached as planned:

manchasol visit

During the 6th month meeting of the HYSOL project organized by the project coordinator, COBRA, and held on 26th and 27th of November 2013, a visit to have an onsite acquaintance of the operation of Manchasol solar power plant was made on the first day. Representatives of all project partners can be seen in the event’s picture at the plant entrance: COBRA, PSA-CIEMAT, ENEA, IDie, AITESA, DTU – Management Engineering group, UPM – Politechnical University of Madrid, and SDLO-PRI of the Wageningen University.

Innovative Configuration for a Fully Renewable Hybrid CSP Plant

Renewable energies are often criticized for not being able to produce supply power to the electrical grid in a manner that is stable, firm and reliable. This difficulty can find a proper and viable solution through hybrid CSP/biomass plants. The market is showing a strong interest in hybrid technologies for power generation.

@HYSOL - This project has received funding from the European Union's Seventh Programme for research, technological development and demonstration under grant agreement No 308912.
